good read
Each book is great as far as I am concerned. I hope this series continues for a long time. Thanks Mr Rudnick.
Captain Scott has beaten alcoholism, is coping with his PTSD, is engaged to a Royal and is now the first Admiral of the Barony Navy. How far will fate take him?
I've enjoyed reading the exploits of Tanner Scott...keep 'em coming! Loaded book 9 and ready to read!
This is at the top of book series I have read. It does not reach the level of the Foundation series by Asimov but close. Good character depth with room for the characters to grow. Would like to see more editions with the Captain and Mrs on the same ship.

I feel me and Tanner Scott have taken a journey together. In this episode, his heart gets broken as his fiancee betrays him, and he has no choice but to get back to work.
I like the realism in this book, even though it's science-fiction, it's very credible and believable, how the military bureaucracy gets in the way, the awful red tape, surviving a boring duty, etc.
Of course, if it's Tanner Scott we're talking about, he won't be bored for long. How he deal with the uprising was amazing.
Seam to be treading water until the next book
Good read. Have enjoyed the whole series. Get annoyed sometimes at the amount of grammatical errors which probably would not get through an editing process for a printed book, but hey the story is the thing.
